Course description
Large complex data sets are becoming available in all areas of psychology providing new opportunities for research, but also presenting challenges for data access, management, analysis, and interpretation. Students will learn computational methods, software tools, and ways of reasoning about Big Data. Emphasis will be placed on tools and practices that improve automation, reproducibility, and scalability. Students will complete team hands-on exercises and projects in which these tools and practices will be applied.
About the instructor
Ariel Rokem (he/him) is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and a Data Science Fellow at the University of Washington eScience Institute. He is the principal investigator of the UW Neuroinformatics R&D group.
